Annual Tent Sale Returns To Darvin® Furniture

Orland Park, IL, June 5, 2018 – Driving through Orland Park, there are few things that match the impact of seeing the huge Darvin® Furniture & Mattress tent filling the parking lot along La Grange Road. An annual event for the 97-year-old family-owned business, the massive tent is second only in size to the popularity of the five-day sale, June 8-12.

Darvin Furniture and Mattress, Chicagoland's largest furniture and mattress store, has been holding the annual tent sale for more than 48 years. The tents, large enough to hold hundreds of items, will have everything from sofas and kitchen sets to mattresses and accessories beneath it. However, the huge discounts of 60-80% will also apply to items on the main level of the showroom and the 30,000-square-foot second-floor Clearance Center.

“Our tent sale is one of those things that our customers and the community look forward to each year. There’s a real festival feeling with the massive tent in our parking lot and there’s great deals for everyone who stops in,” says Bob McGivney, Darvin Furniture store manager. “Usually in the spring I start to have people ask me when we are doing the big tent sale. It really is one of those things that has become part of the summer experience in Orland and for the region.”

Customers visiting during the week-long tent sale can look for the Darvin sales associates in their blue shirts to get assistance with any immediate needs. Multiple payment options will be available and delivery can be scheduled for any items purchased at the tent event.

According to Hanny Diab, Director of Merchandising, it is not uncommon for the public to see the tent going up and to stop by the store, 15400 La Grange Road, Orland Park, IL. “As soon as people start seeing the crew putting the tent up in the parking lot, they will start to show up and ask when the sale is going to take place.”

Diab says the big tent sale is unique in that it offers customers an opportunity to pick up special buys, last-chance bargains, overstock and floor samples. “There are a lot of deals to be had, that’s why there’s so much excitement each year,” he says. “These items are substantially reduced and many are going below cost.”
