If It's Custom Furniture You Desire, Darvin® Delivers

According to Bob McGivney, store manager of Darvin Furniture & Mattress, one of the most frequent requests his sales associates get is ‘can I get different fabrics, colors and finishes to suit my home decor? The answer is – Yes.’

“We offer special Value Packs which provide a wide range of colors and fabrics at no additional cost,” says McGivney.

Darvin® Furniture offers a substantial selection of upholstery, dining rooms and bedrooms that can be customized. Choose from hundreds of options and enjoy the freedom of choice for style, fabric and the finish for sofas, loveseats, accent chairs and sectionals.

“For many custom orders, the only additional price is simply the waiting time for delivery,” says McGivney. “A typical custom order takes approximately four to eight weeks. A small price to pay for furnishings that can deliver the perfect sofa, sectional, dining set or bedroom set you have always dreamed about.”

The Process: For many of the brands that offer custom orders, the process provides as much flexibility as the customer requires. Every Darvin sales associate has been trained to use the very latest tools, including computer-aided design kiosks, to show distinct wood stains, upholstery applications and hardware options.

“Customers can get exactly what they want,” says McGivney. “And if they are not sure what they want – our design specialists can assist them in choosing the perfect style, design and colors.”

Design Help: Another service provided by Darvin is its interior design service. Darvin will send out a design specialist to precisely measure rooms, offer ideas for decor and provide assistance throughout the entire process. While there is a $100 fee for the consultation, it is deducted from the final cost of Darvin furnishings.

“This is a great way to get professional interior design assistance at no cost. Many people find themselves a bit overwhelmed with the notion of furnishing multiple rooms from scratch,” McGivney says. “It can be very intimidating to take the leap if you are not certain. Our in-home design specialists are professionals, they can see the function of a room, pick up on a customer’s likes and dislikes, and ultimately make sure everything fits perfectly.”

While it is normal for customers to see a piece of furniture and sit in it, feel it, and ultimately love it – most customers prefer to have the ability to get it in the color they would like, he says.

According to McGivney, some of the most exciting custom brands Darvin carries include King Hickory, Canadel, England, Flexsteel, Daniel's Amish.
