INTERIOR DESIGNER
Are you a creative thinker with a passion for interior design? Do you have a knack for transforming spaces into stylish, functional havens? Darvin Furniture is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our team and help our customers bring their dream homes to life!
As a Darvin Interior Design Consultant, you will be providing clients with home furnishing and decorating advice. You will conduct in-home design calls with clients, and provide design solutions that represent our clients’ lifestyles while creating fashionable, comfortable and functional environments. Our success stems from serving our customers with honesty, courtesy and professionalism. You will also:
Conduct in-depth consultations with customers to assess their design requirements and preferences.
Develop comprehensive design plans, including furniture selections, space planning, color schemes, and accessories.
Present design concepts and product recommendations to customers in a clear and compelling manner.
Collaborate with sales associates and other team members to ensure seamless execution of design projects.
Stay updated on industry trends, new product offerings, and interior design best practices and participate in design seminars both in and outside of the store.
Develop and maintain client reports and records.
Meet or exceed monthly design incentives.
Promote your design abilities to both inside and outside clientele.
Assist in design related functions in the store.
Assist in store tagging.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work weekends and some evenings.
Valid Illinois driver’s license and clean driving record.
Basic computer skills.
Attention to detail.
Maintain a working relationship with sales consultants that promote a team-selling atmosphere.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous retail experience of high-quality home furnishings is required, along with a commitment to career development and a strong desire to succeed. You will also possess:
Associate’s degree in interior design and two years retail residential design experience.
Skills to create home environments, including measuring space, color coordination, drafting a floor plan, and placement of furniture and accessories.
Proven experience in residential interior design, preferably within a furniture retail environment.
Strong understanding of furniture styles, materials, and construction techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.

Administrative Assistant
We are currently looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant to assist our President in various duties. This is an semi-entry level position. If you have a college degree and some administrative experience, are able to manage projects and have excellent communication and public relations skills/education, this may be the position for you!
Administrative Assistant Job Duties:
Welcoming visitors, reviewing correspondence; arranging, organizing, and attending company dinners and other corporate and Public Relations related functions.
Coordinate closely with the Marketing Department and assists in the development of relationships with contacts important to Darvin within the community. Manage specific PR related relationships, events and actions which generate an intrinsic return on investment for Darvin.
Handle special projects as assigned.
Arrange corporate travel and meetings by developing itineraries and agendas; scheduling flights; booking other transportation; arranging lodging and meeting accommodations.
Accompany the President of Darvin to key manufacturing partners including in person travel to furniture markets, leadership related conferences, ESOP related events and conferences as well as the facilitation of plant tours.
Create and manage internal company events and training seminars designed to meet the objectives of the president.
Generate reports, assist with the management of budgets, organize documents and files, answer and direct phone calls as well as electronic communications.

Visual Display Associate
This is an amazing entry level opportunity to start building your career in visual merchandising using your design education in our beautiful showroom that features the latest furniture trends. We carry something for everyone!
Entry Level Visual Merchandiser– Full Time - Hours Tuesday – Saturday 8:30-5:00 pm
Qualifications:
Retail Interior design or display background experience preferred.
Must have an eye for style, merchandise presentation and the ability to set up and maintain inspirational displays within our 220,000 sq. ft furniture showroom.
Knowledge of design trends, colors and design concepts within the furniture industry.
Ability to work as part of a team as well independently and communicate product or layout issues and suggest resolutions as the situation requires.
Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Capacity for continuous physical effort and the ability to lift over 35lbs as well as bending, reaching and climbing ladders.
Must have general computer knowledge.
High level of accountability and initiative: regular attendance is required.
Responsibilities:
Take direction from the Visual Merchandising Manager on all visual presentation needs.
Perform daily showroom floor walks to straighten the vignettes, maintain store displays and furniture to promote the look the of the store.
Work closely with the Warehouse, Merchandising and Marketing teams.
Assist with in-house photo shoots, including selection of accessories, placement, and set up/tear down of room scenes.
Execute daily department maintenance tasks, including price mark downs, tagging/felt dotting of new accessories and placement of new product.
Reconciling accessory receiving issues and maintaining inventory control.
Provide support to additional departments as needed.

Position Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our Darvin Furniture Distribution Center Customer Service Team, in Mokena, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for resolving customer issues, managing expectations proactively, and ensuring that all customer inquiries are handled efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Post-Delivery Service: Address post-delivery inquiries and problems promptly and courteously. Resolve issues yourself or connect customers with the appropriate person.
Schedule Service Calls: Schedule service calls immediately upon receiving valid customer requests.
Receive Incoming Calls: Prioritize answering incoming customer calls. This responsibility takes precedence over other tasks.
Enter Order Comments: Accurately enter and maintain sales order and service notes. Document the date, time, outcome of calls, and the responsible party. Ensure all comments are clear and precise.
Special Projects and Other Duties: Perform additional duties and handle special projects as required to ensure smooth departmental operations.
Call Script: Adhere to the call script to present customers with available options before offering exchanges, returns, reselections, or adjustments.
Voicemails: Monitor, retrieve, and follow up on voicemails in a timely manner.
Exchanges/Returns/Reselections: Offer exchanges, returns, and reselections only as a final option. Ensure accurate data entry for these transactions.
Help Other Departments: Provide support and advice to team members in other departments. Assist with problem resolution and ensure smooth collaboration across teams.
