July 18, 2020: A large group of spectators gathered outside Darvin Furniture & Mattress, Chicagoland’s largest furniture and mattress store, 15400 La Grange Road, Orland Park, Ill., and anxiously awaited a winner to be declared. Among the crowd were 17 Darvin 100th Anniversary finalists who were equally excited to see if the individual code they had randomly chosen would be the lucky winner to open the doors to the red 2020 Ford Explorer.

The winner, Bridget Kincy-Pollard, was the third person to try her code when she won the Ford Explorer from Joe Rizza Ford. The crowd surrounding the vehicle immediately erupted as she teared up, stared at the crowd with a look of shock, covered her face with her hands and fell into the side of the building in a dramatic outpouring of emotion. “I’m the winner!” she cried as the crowd applauded.

The celebration continued as finalists collected their vouchers for their Wyndham vacations and congratulated Kincy-Pollard on her prized Explorer. For Will Harris, president of Darvin Furniture & Mattress, giving away the vehicle and vacations was just part of the year-long 100th Anniversary Celebration.
