Steve and Marty Darvin honored
with City of Hope Spirit of Life award

Orland Park, IL, January 2023 – Steve and Marty Darvin, third-generation owners of Darvin Furniture & Mattress, will be honored in April 2023 with the City of Hope Spirit of Life Award. City of Hope is one the nation's largest cancer research and treatment organizations and one of the leading research centers for diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses.

City of Hope's International Home Furnishings Industry recognizes industry leaders each year for their outstanding professional and philanthropic contributions at the Spirit of Life Award Dinner, which will be held April 23, 2023 in South Carolina.

Darvin Furniture & Matress, Chicagoland's largest furniture and mattress store, celebrated its 102nd anniversary in 2022, an achievement most businesses can only dream of attaining. For third-generation owners Steve and Marty Darvin, having their name associated with such a familiar Chicagoland business comes with added responsibilities that include giving back to help others in need.

According to Darvin Furniture & Mattress President Will Harris, leading up to the April awards presentation, Darvin Furniture & Mattress will be spending more than $150,000 on a cancer research awareness campaign, as well as offering in-store promotions that encourage contributions to City of Hope with the promise of matching funds.

"I am thrilled to be part of a company that cares and extremely excited to see Steve and Marty being honored for their efforts helping others," says Harris. "I will be spearheading the fund-raising efforts over the next few months and look forward to presenting a check to City of Hope in April."
