Darvin's Annual Furniture Giveaway awards over
$200,000 in Furniture Prizes
Customers share the thrill of winning great prizes
Orland Park, Ill., February 10, 2023 — Every year Darvin Furniture & Mattress takes great pride in giving back to the customers that have made it possible for Chicagoland's largest furniture & mattress store to be heading into its 103rd year in business. The annual Darvin Furniture Giveaway started allowing visitors to the Orland Park showroom to register in October for the year-end drawing. The result was more than 1,000 entrants collected and dozens of winning names drawn.
Art and Jan Jansky of Chicago had their names pulled as winners of a six-piece dining set. The couple was visiting Darvin's showroom when they took a few minutes to fill out the entry form. It was not something they say was initially a priority.
"We’d like to say thank you to Darvin and to our salesman Peter Mark. He encouraged us to enter the contest. The last time we won anything was twenty-five years ago," explains Art. "We were very pleasantly surprised. It’s a beautiful dining set and it looks great in our home!"
Prizes awarded in the annual drawing included entertainment sets, dining sets, bedroom sets, sofas, china cabinets, mattresses, and much more.
The Jansky family was just one of the dozens of names pulled from the registration bin and contacted to come into Darvin to collect their prize. "Winners do not need to be present at the drawing," explains Darvin Furniture & Mattress Store Manager Bob McGivney. "It's not uncommon for it to take a week or more to get in touch with a winner and for them to make their way in to see their prize. It's great for our staff to be there and to see their reactions."
According to Art, he and Jan went into the store to see their dining room set. He admits they were not sure what they were going to see, or how much they might like it. "We were a bit skeptical when we went into the store to see the dining set. It's beautiful! This whole experience has been so unexpected and is greatly appreciated."
According to Darvin Furniture & Mattress President Will Harris, who says he always looks forward to the annual Furniture Giveaway, the long-standing tradition is just one way Darvin can show its loyal customers how much they are appreciated.
"I cannot tell you just how much fun it is for all of us here at Darvin to see the looks on the faces of our customers when they get a chance to see what they won," says Will. "The Furniture Giveaway is our chance to say thank you and to let our customers know how much we value their business."
