Darvin Furniture Odds & Ends Sale Is Back 10 - 3 p.m. Aug. 20 At Mokena Distribution Center

Hundreds of one-of-a-kind items going for up to 80% off original prices

Orland Park, IL, Aug. 15, 2017 – Back by popular demand, Darvin Furniture, Chicagoland's largest furniture and mattress store, is planning an Odds & Ends Sale 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 20, at the Darvin Furniture Distribution Center, 19111 Darvin Drive in Mokena.

The single-day event, which is open for just five hours, features factory overstocks, scratch & dent, floor samples and special offer cancellations from 60% to 80% off original prices. Hundreds of one-of-a-kind items will be on hand at the Mokena Distribution Center warehouse and – when they are gone – they are gone forever. The Distribution Center is a 220,000-square-foot facility that is just 10 minutes from the Darvin retail store in Orland Park.

According to Lori Stengren, VP Sales, Merchandising and Marketing, the August Odds & Ends Sale was a new concept for Darvin in 2017 and the inaugural event in May was so popular that it made sense to offer customers another opportunity to take advantage of these one-of-a-kind deals.

Hundreds of one-of-a-kind items will be on hand at the Mokena Distribution Center warehouse. “While the Odds & Ends Sale helps us alleviate excess inventory, overstocks and scratch and dent items, it is a real opportunity for the public to get some amazing deals on very unique pieces. Customers at the sale will also have access to clearance pricing on furniture and mattresses,” says Stengren. “Our first Odds & Ends Sale in May was an incredible success.”

Hundreds of one-of-a-kind items like this mattress, dining set and sofa will be on hand at the Darvin Odds & Ends Sale.

Stengren says anyone planning to come to the Darvin Odds & Ends Sale should plan on coming out to the Mokena site early on Sunday morning. “In May, there were huge lines outside the building in anticipation of the potential deals. Everyone who stopped by got a chance to find a quality piece at a great price that was perfect for them.”

Visitors to the Odds & Ends Sale will find price points as low as $19. Stengren described some of the items as oddities that people are able to find a new use for. Whether it’s a hutch that was originally meant for the top of a buffet or the armless portion of a sectional, there’s something for everyone at the Odds & Ends Sale.

“I think for many people it may be a combination of the warehouse setting and the thrill of the hunt. Who wouldn’t be excited at the chance to find something unique at a great price,” Stengren says. “Getting a great deal is one thing, but a lot of people like buying something and finding a new use for it or turning it into something completely different.”
